Materials & Sustainability
Quivytee chooses hardwood that is carefully dried to limit warping with heat, cold, and humidity. Common species are white oak, walnut, maple, ash, and cherry. Quivytee selects each board for strength and calm grain, then places them so color and grain flow across the top.
Table bases can be solid wood for a warm feel, or painted steel from small U.S. shops for a slim, modern look. Finishes are low odor and safe for indoor use: natural oil gives a matte, warm touch and can be refreshed easily, while a clear protective coat adds daily protection and keeps the natural color.
For every batch, Quivytee keeps simple notes about wood in and finish out so care, touch up, and matching future pieces stay easy. Typical U.S. sources include Baillie Lumber, Rex Lumber, Northwest Hardwoods, Baird Brothers, Bell Forest Products, Hearne Hardwoods, and Weyerhaeuser distributors. Hardware and metal parts are often supplied through McMaster-Carr or Fastenal, with precise metal cutting by SendCutSend or Xometry.
Products & Lead Times
Quivytee focuses on pieces used most at home: dining tables, coffee and side tables, console tables, and desks with tidy cable pass-throughs. Sizes are practical so they fit real homes, not just photos.
Ready-to-ship items usually leave in 1-2 business days. Made-to-order items take about 3-5 weeks, depending on design and finish. Quivytee builds in small batches of about 20-40 pieces per month to keep timelines real and quality steady. If you have a firm date, Quivytee will state what is ready now and what can be built on time.
Quivytee matches boards that belong together and joins them into a top that is good-looking and strong. High-stress spots such as leg joints and long spans get extra support so the table stays solid over time. Hardware sits neatly in the wood so assembling and taking apart does not loosen the joints. Adjustable feet help the table stand level even on uneven floors.
Quivytee dining tables are made for real life: serving meals, working on laptops, art and craft, long talks. If you need more legroom, space for a wheelchair, or softer family-friendly edges, Quivytee adjusts the design to fit your home.
Process – From Wood to Finished Piece
Wood arrives at the shop, gets tagged with its source, and rests to match local air before any cutting. This quiet step helps the boards behave better later.
Quivytee lays out boards on a long bench, moves them until color and grain feel calm, takes a quick photo, marks the layout, and follows those marks so the same pleasing pattern shows on the finished top.
Parts are cut to size and places for hardware and legs are prepared. A full test fit follows: top and base come together, steadiness is checked, along with knee room, overhangs, and chair space. Small adjustments happen here if needed.
Edges are softened by hand so sleeves do not snag and elbows rest comfortably. Small knots are smoothed to keep character without catching. Surfaces are sanded in gentle steps until the table feels even from corner to corner.
The chosen finish is applied: natural oil for a warm, matte feel that can be refreshed, or a clear coat for more daily protection. The piece rests so the surface is truly ready for use.
A final check in natural light follows. The top should feel flat to the palm, the base balanced, hardware should start and tighten smoothly, and the finish should look even. Order notes are updated with wood type, finish, edge style, and any options like cable holes or a matching bench.
Packing receives the same care: foam wrap, corner guards, a labeled hardware kit, the right driver, and simple steps go in the box. Setup on arrival is straightforward.
Custom Orders
Tell Quivytee your room size, seating needs, the chairs you have, and preferences such as cable pass-throughs or rounder corners. Quivytee sends quick sketches to agree on size, leg placement, and clearances, then locks in wood, finish, edge shape, stain match if needed, desk cable holes, and a matching bench.
Quivytee holds 4-8 custom slots per month so schedules stay reliable. If you need to match an existing piece, natural light photos help Quivytee guide you to the closest wood and finish.
Packing & Delivery
Tops and bases are wrapped with foam and corner guards, with a labeled hardware kit and the right driver included. Many U.S. orders ship with UPS, FedEx, or DHL and include tracking. Larger tables may travel on a pallet for safer handling. In major cities, Quivytee can suggest room-of-choice delivery if needed.
If you plan a move later, message Quivytee. Quivytee will resend packing guidance so the piece travels safely again.
Simple Care
Wipe spills right away, use coasters or trivets for very hot items, and dust with a soft cloth. Strong sun and very humid rooms can speed up color change, so a bit of shade and steady air helps.
Oil-finished surfaces can be refreshed about once a year with a simple kit from Quivytee. Clear-coated surfaces do well with a gentle cleaner and do not need harsh chemicals. Real wood changes a little with light and time. That slow shift is natural and part of its character.
